Barcelona wannabe told to re-design logo or face legal action

Barcelona have sent a legal notice to Romanian club Otelul Galati for copying their World famous crest

The 2010/11 Romanian champions made the error of copying Barcelona’s logo to mark their 50th anniversary and will now go back to re-design or face a legal action

Speaking at a press conference Otelul sporting director Christian Munteanu said: ‘Barcelona are right. The club logo is identical to that of Barcelona. It was a mistake, a copy-paste, so we will change the logo.

‘I wanted to change it anyway as supporters were not happy with the new logo. We will return to our old logo which we played with in the Champions League and won the championship and Super Cup.

‘We are obliged to Barcelona [to change it] because we received notice from Barcelona. Someone from Barcelona saw the logo and they sent us a notice.’

The East Romanian club were drawn against Manchester United, Benfica and Basel in the group phase in the 2011-12 Champions League but were relegated from the Romanian League top flight last season.
