Vadim Vasilyev, Vice-President of AS Monaco:

“It’s a source of great satisfaction to have someone of Claude Makalele’s qualities alongside me, with his complete profile, both through his career as an international player and as a coach. It was important to have a professional on a day to day basis, to act as a link between the team and the club management.
This new setup will enable AS Monaco to break new ground and will further our long term ambitions.”

Claude Makelele, Technical Director of AS Monaco:

”I’m delighted to be joining a big club in France and Europe. My meeting with Vadim Vasilyev was central to my decision to join AS Monaco and this long term project. This is a new stage in my career, and I firmly believe this new role of Technical Director is perfect for me, and will enable me to continue my progression. I’m very excited at the prospect of working with a coach of Leonardo Jardim’s quality and a promising group of players. AS Monaco aims to qualify for the Champions League every year, and I will be working hard to help the club achieve its objectives”.
