Hard to find a weakness in Manchester City – Livermore

JAKE Livermore insists “nothing is a given” ahead of Albion’s clash with Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side head to The Hawthorns sitting five points clear of second-place Manchester United having won eight and drawn one of their opening nine matches, with Tony Pulis describing Saturday’s opponents as the “form team in Europe”.

But the England midfielder stressed the unpredictable nature of football is why it is universally adored.

He said: “Manchester City have got quality all the way through their team.

“You look through their squad and their bench is worth an absolute fortune and it’s hard to find a weakness.

“Hopefully we can eradicate their threat.

“Last season we won some games that people didn’t think we would, however, we also lost some games when people expected us to win.

“That’s the way football is and that’s why we all love it.

“Nothing is a given.”

Having been handed a short break earlier in the season after a non-stop schedule with the Baggies and England, Livermore is now feeling fit and raring to go.

“I feel great at the minute.

“It’s good management in my opinion.

“Players go in and out of form at times.

“I didn’t get much of a break in the summer and everyone has a different body.

“I think it was well recognised by the staff, the manager and myself.

“To have a week out is better than breaking down three months down the line.”
