Former England midfielder Joe Cole, has joined Coventry City on a permanent move until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old left Aston Villa as a free agent after failing to hold down a first team place.
Cole who has played for a host of English League clubs including West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and with a loan spell at Ligue 1 side Lille has been on loan with the League One side since October playing seven times and finding the back of the net once.
City coach Tony Mowbray while speaking with the club’s official website said: “Since he joined the club, I’ve really enjoyed working with Joe and am delighted to see him sign on for the rest of the season.
”Our staff have worked hard with him to build up his fitness and physicality, and we’ve seen Joe really buy into what we’re trying to do here.
“He’s great to have around the dressing room and the rest of the squad feed off his experience, and I’m sure it’ll have a positive impact on our younger players as well.”
