The look on Chairman Bill Kenwright’s face said it all on Sunday when Arsenal beat Everton 5-2 at Goodison Park. Hours later, Kenwright, the Board of Directors and Major Shareholder Farhad Moshiri had to make a decision about Ronald Koeman’s future, and they decided to show him the door.
In a statement by the club, Kenwright, Moshiri and the Board expressed their gratitude to Koeman for his service to the Club over the past 16 months. The Dutch tactician guided the Club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign and it was looking like the Toffees were going to have a better campaign with new additions over the summer. Sadly, Everton have performed poorly so far, falling to 18th on the premier league table after Sunday’s home defeat.
As Everton starts looking for a suitable replacement for Koeman, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has predicted that Burnley’s Sean Dyche would replace Koeman. But there is also Carlo Ancelotti and David Moyes.
Who do you think will be Everton’s next manager?
