Victor Moses is the latest player to answer questions about his neighbours in the dressing room at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground. For the Nigerian they are Gary Cahill and Ethan Ampadu …
WHO IS NORMALLY FIRST IN AT COBHAM IN THE MORNINGS?
Me, 100 per cent! Then it’s Ampadu, and then Gaz.
ARE THEY TIDY OR MESSY NEIGHBOURS?
Ampadu is tidy. They’re both tidy to be honest. Sometimes I do leave my towel around after training but most of the time I am a tidy guy too!
TELL US SOMETHING WE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT EACH OF THEM…
Ampadu doesn’t talk a lot. You have to talk to him first before he communicates, but he is still so young. He has a long way to go but he is a very talented player and everyone is happy to have him in the changing room. He’s a very good kid.
Gary is the leader. Everyone respects him and he speaks very well. The three of us in a row get along. We’re room-mates!
DO EITHER OF THEM SECRETLY FILM ON THEIR PHONES FOR SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT?
I don’t think so. If anyone did it would be Ampadu, not Gaz!
WHO SPENDS THE LONGEST LOOKING IN THE MIRROR OR LOOKING AFTER THEIR APPEARANCE?
Gaz. He is always touching his hair, putting some gel in, trying to make it look good and make sure everything is in place.
For Ampadu, I am going to put scissors in his hair one day when he’s not looking…
FAVOURITE TOPIC OF CONVERSATION?
Normally football, really. We talk about how well we have done in training.
DO YOU LIKE THEIR MUSIC?
Gaz, yeah. He listens to a bit of RnB which I am kind of into as well. I’m not sure what Ampadu listens to.
BEST THING ABOUT EACH OF THEM AS A NEIGHBOUR?
Ampadu doesn’t give me a lot of hassle because he doesn’t talk a lot! Gaz and I have a lot of banter which is really good. We have known each other a long time so we understand each other well.
ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE?
The only thing I would change is Ampadu’s hair! That’s the only thing I would change. I try to give him some advice, I tell him to do a little bit thinner like my dreadlocks! I’m not sure about his plaits…in a few years’ time he is going to look back and think ‘wow, was I actually carrying that hair?!’ but he’s a good guy.
LET’S TALK CLOTHES…
They both dress very well to be fair. They’re spot on. If they weren’t I would be the first to tell them!
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WHEN…
They’re both very determined on the pitch. They give their all and they show a lot of passion for the game. Even Ampadu, he is only 17, but you can tell how far he is going to go. If he can keep doing what he is doing at the moment the future is bright.
